Two men face 21 charges stemming from a drug trafficking investigation.
Halton Regional Police say the investigation – dubbed Project Thriller – was launched in November 2024 into two suspected drug traffickers using rental vehicles and operating in the GTA.
A search warrant was executed on Jan. 13 at a Thorold home and both suspects were located inside the residence and arrested.
Police also executed a search warrant at a storage locker in Beamsville and on two vehicles.
Among the items allegedly seized were 13.5 ounces of fentanyl, 3.5 ounces of cocaine, 6 ounces of crack cocaine, 6.5 ounces of methamphetamine, 75 oxycodone pills, 20 clonazepam pills, scales, packaging, two brass knuckles, prohibited knife, two replica handguns and about $1,000 in cash.
Owen Ewald, 21, of Kitchener, faces eight drug-related charges, three weapons charges, and one count each of possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 and driving while under suspension.
Isa Hosin, 25, of Thorold, faces six drug-related charges and three weapons-related charges.

SUSPECTS SOUGHT FOR RESIDENTIAL BREAK-INS IN SCARBOROUGH
Investigators need help identifying multiple suspects sought for residential break-ins in Scarborough.
Toronto Police say officers responded to a call for an attempted break-in at a home near Huntingwood Dr. and Pharmacy Ave. around 6:20 p.m. on Dec. 11, 2024.
It’s reported that four people turned up in a white SUV and three of them attempted to break the rear glass sliding door to gain access to the home. But they were interrupted when the homeowner activated an alarm, so they fled in the SUV.
It is further reported that on Jan. 10, around 6:25 p.m., officers responded to a call for a break-in at a home near Huntingwood Dr. and Warden Ave.
In that incident, four people showed up in in a black SUV, three of them broke the rear glass door to gain access into the house and took valuables before fleeing in the SUV.
Police have now released images of those three suspects, who were all wearing a dark face covering, hoping members of the public will recognize them and come forward.
Suspect number one was also wearing a green jacket, dark-coloured pants and a dark-coloured hat.
Suspect number two was wearing a grey sweater.
Suspect number three was wearing blue jeans, a dark-coloured puffy jacket and a dark-coloured baseball hat with a red triangle shape logo.

MAN, 41, AND WOMAN, 24, NABBED IN ALLEGEDLY STOLEN CAR IN BURLINGTON
Two people face charges after they were allegedly caught in possession of a stolen car from Burlington on Thursday.
Halton Regional Police say officers located a stolen Toyota 4Runner, reported stolen Monday, on Parkdale Ave. N. in Hamilton around 10:40 p.m.
When they attempted to stop the stolen vehicle it fled, colliding with two police cruisers.
Police say the stolen vehicle continued north on Main St. where it lost control at Strathearne Ave and a male driver and female passenger then fled on foot.
The male was caught a short distance away and the female was taken into custody a short time later with the assistance of Hamilton Police.
No further suspects are being sought and no physical injuries were suffered.
Steven Costello, 41, of no fixed address, faces five charges that include failure to comply with probation and operation while prohibited.
Natalie Campbell, 24, of no fixed address, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

THIRD SUSPECT CHARGED IN 2024 MURDER OF MAN, 38, IN NIAGARA REGION
A third person has been charged in the 2024 killing of 38-year-old Daniel Sanvido in Port Colborne last year.
Niagara Regional Police say the victim’s body was found around 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 24 in the area of Forkes Rd. and Hwy. 140 in a grassy area off the roadway.
On Thursday, around 3:35 pm, officers responded to a Niagara Falls home in the area of Stacey and Victor Drs. following information a wanted person was inside. Richard Stevens, 47, of Niagara Falls, was arrested about four hours later and charged with first-degree murder.
Previously, on Jan. 4, Jacob Cudney, 47, of Niagara Falls, was charged with first-degree murder in Sanvido’s death. And on Jan. 2, Jade Hayward, 36, of St. Catharines, was charged with first-degree murder in the man’s death.
