A senior Wall Street executive is suing Conor McGregor claiming he “engaged in unlawful sexual contact” in a men’s bathroom at an NBA finals game “for his owns sexual gratification” and to “degrade” the woman.

The lawsuit also alleges that McGregor slammed the woman face first against a wall and put her in an arm lock during the incident at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, on June 9, 2023.

The MMA fighter’s legal team have described the allegations as “false” while prosecutors previously decided not to pursue a criminal case following a police investigation.

Lawyers for the woman have now filed a civil case against McGregor for battery and against the Kaseya Center staff and security for negligence.

The lawsuit, filed on Tuesday in the US district court for the southern district of Florida, also names the Miami Heat and Basketball Properties LLC, which operates the Kaseya Center, as defendants.

Court records state that the plaintiff is a 49-year-old woman who is a senior Wall Street vice-president at a high-profile financial institution.

While her identity is known to McGregor, she has maintained her anonymity “to avoid embarrassment and shame from the conduct” alleged and to “protect the privacy of her career”

It outlines how the woman and the MMA fighter were engaged in “amicable conversation” at the game.

The woman states that when her acquaintance told her they were leaving, an associate of McGregor approached them and said “Conor told me to come get you”.

It is claimed he led them towards the exit of the courtside club and they stopped outside a men’s bathroom.

The associate held on to the woman’s wrist, it’s alleged, and when she asked him to let go, she was told “No, Conor will kill me if I lose you”.

It is further alleged that McGregor then exited the bathroom, grabbed the woman’s wrist, and led her into the bathroom with her acquaintance to follow.

The woman claims in the lawsuit that McGregor appeared “under the influence of intoxicants and out of control”, and alleges that while in the stall he attempted to force himself onto her sexually without her consent.

It is then alleged that when she attempted to exit the stall, he slammed her against the wall face first, put her in an arm lock, and attempted further sexual contact without her consent.

The claim alleges that Conor McGregor “intentionally engaged in unlawful sexual contact” and that his actions were “for his own sexual gratification and for the purposes of degrading” the woman.

Lawyers for the plaintiff say they are seeking damages of over $75,000, the threshold for the court, for both past and future medical treatment, compensatory damages, and costs.

They are also suing the Kaseya Center for negligence, alleging that the staff and security did not provide a safe environment.

During a half-time skit Conor McGregor punched a mascot named ‘Burnie’ as part of a promotion for a pain-relief spray.

The lawsuit alleges that the individual playing ‘Burnie’ needed medical treatment, which the Kaseya Center staff and security were aware of, and as a result had a “chargeable knowledge of a heightened risk of battery being carried out” by Conor McGregor.

The woman also states that he was allowed to pour his own alcoholic drinks at the game and that this failure to cut of his access to alcohol “after he was overserved demonstrates a conscious disregard for the safety of patrons”.

Representatives for the plaintiff and Conor McGregor have been contacted for comment by the Irish Independent.

In a statement to media in the US, the woman’s lawyer James Dunn said: “After the Miami-Dade County Prosecutor’s office elected not to pursue criminal charges, a civil case is the only avenue that my client has to seek justice in this case”.

Attorney Barbara Llanes, counsel for McGregor, said: “After a thorough investigation at the time, the State’s Attorney concluded that there was no case to pursue.

“Almost two years and at least three lawyers later the plaintiff has a new false story. We are confident that this case too will be dismissed.”
