Tyson Fury has been a different character in recent years, according to Simon Jordan, after the boxing icon announced his retirement on Monday.
The 36-year-old shocked the world by announcing – not for the first time – that he would be hanging up his gloves.
Fury has seemingly chosen to walk away from boxing after suffering two defeats to Oleksandr Usyk in 2024, with his latest loss coming in December.
Many expect him to make a return, however, especially with Eddie Hearn keen to arrange a lucrative showdown involving the Gypsy King and Anthony Joshua.

Jordan, speaking on talkSPORT, has now expressed a belief that Fury’s persona has changed in recent years.
The former Crystal Palace chief said: “Fury was full of charisma and style, but I think the last couple of years he’s been a different character.
“Has he been a spectacle to watch? Yes. Has he changed the sport with some of his performances against Deontay Wilder notably? Yes.”
Jordan is, however, adamant that he won’t play Fury’s game and insists he doesn’t care about the boxing icon’s retirement call.
“It’s nonsense, Tyson Fury is courting attention, it is all about Tyson Fury,” opined the 57-year-old.
“Why is this announcement being made on January 13, the day they are announcing this huge fight card [Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol 2]?
“What is the agenda behind it? So go away then, just come back when you want to.

“But I won’t sit there in tears saying oh I miss Tyson Fury or ‘it’s terrible for boxing’, I won’t play his game.
“Fantastic Tyson you have made a lot of money from the sport, but if you want to retire, do it. If you don’t, then don’t.
“Who cares? Bye then. Does the boxing world stop because Tyson Fury isn’t fighting in the heavyweight decision.

Fury has retired on four separate occasions in the past, only to end up coming back.
A potential bout with Joshua would thrill millions around the world, especially given how they’ve verbally fired shots at each other over the years.

But what ultimately happens remains to be seen, with Fury adamant he’s already entered the ring for the last time.
The Briton won 34 of his 37 professional bouts during his career.
His biggest victories were over the likes of Wladimir Klitschko, Dillian Whyte and Deontay Wilder.
