Northern Ireland international Corry Evans has joined Oldham Athletic until the end of the season.
The 34-year-old was released by League Two side Bradford City following the end of his contract.
Evans could make his debut for the Latics, who are fifth in the National League but have three games in hand on table-toppers Forest Green, in Saturday’s home game against Aldershot.
“It’s great to finally get it done, I was in training last week so I’m just really pleased to get it over the line,” he told the club.
“The club got in touch to see where I was at and if I wanted to come down, and when I came I could see the potential this club has to offer.
“The stadium is great, the pitch is fantastic so I’m just looking forward to getting started and helping in any way I can.
“We’re in a good position in the League so I’m coming in at a good time, the quality in the squad is there to see so this is an exciting project.
“If I can use any of my experience then I will do. It’s a tough League so we have to approach every game as it’s the last and look to pick up as many points as we can from now until the end of the season.”
The former Hull City, Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland midfielder had joined the Bantams in October on a short-term contract three months after he left Sunderland. He played nine times for Bradford, including four starts.
He was club captain at the Stadium of Light when an ACL injury resulted in a 15-month stint on the sidelines.
Evans has played 69 times for Northern Ireland, scoring twice and playing at Euro 2016. He was an unused substitute in September when Michael O’Neill’s team defeated Luxembourg and lost to Bulgaria on their way to Nations League promotion.
Oldham boss Micky Mellon said: “Corry is the type of player who will help the group dramatically.
“He brings with him plenty of experience, he’s a great guy and he comes in improving our midfield options.
“He’s a player who will break things up, go into challenges and look to make the game difficult for the opposition.
“Throughout his career he’s played at the top end of the pyramid and he’s a great example of a player who we think can help us to get to where we want to be.
“I’m sure the fans will get behind Corry’s arrival and will see what he can bring to the table in the games to come.”
Northern Ireland Under-19 international and former Glenavon goalkeeper Josh Gracey has signed his first professional contract with Wolves.
