You better work and not twerk.
An Alaska Airlines flight attendant found that out the hard way when she was fired after posting a viral TikTok video of herself twerking on a plane during a two-hour wait for the pilot to arrive, according to A View From the Wing.
The clip, which went viral on Instagram, was captioned “ghetto bih till i D-I-E, don’t let the uniform fool you” and was supposed to be a celebration about the end of her probation period as a new hire.
Nelle Diala has since created a GoFundMe to support herself while she seeks new flight attendant employment after Alaska Airlines let her go just six months into her contract, reports the New York Post.
“I never thought a single moment would cost me everything,” Diala wrote, claiming she was “wrongfully fired.”
“Losing my job was devastating,” she added.
Still, Diala honestly feels she wasn’t doing anything wrong and has reposted the twerking clip with the new caption: “Can’t even be yourself anymore, without the world being so sensitive. What’s wrong with a little twerk before work, people act like they never did that before.”
The footage was hashtagged #discriminationisreal.
Still, Diala admitted she used the flight attendant income to help fund her “blossoming lingerie and dessert businesses,” which she runs under the Instagram handles @cakezncake and @figure8.lingerie.

As of Thursday morning, the GoFundMe had raised just US$1,881 of its US$12,000 goal and Diala was being criticized online not only for twerking while working but starting a GoFundMe in the first place.
“‘Girl you weren’t wrongly fired,” wrote one critic. “Go apply for a new job and probably stop twerking in your uniform.”
Added another: “The fact that you don’t respect your job is one thing but doing it while in uniform and at work speaks volumes. You’re the brand ambassador and it’s not a good look.”
