BBC Breakfast presenter Roger Johnson has been juggling a hectic schedule, hosting the breakfast programme from Monday to Thursday while also presenting BBC North West Tonight.
Fans have expressed concern about his lack of sleep, with one X user asking, “@RogerJ_01, when do you sleep? @BBCBreakfast for two days and the late @BBCNWT in between. Tough Stokie!”
Another fan wrote, “All joking aside… 6am @BBCBreakfast 1835 @BBCNWT 2235 #LateNews 0600 #Breakfast… @RogerJ_01 you really must be living/sleeping at Media City!! All due praise and respect, U must be knackered!! U on tonight and tomorrow morning aswell?”
Roger alleviated fans’ concerns by confirming he was taking a break as he bid farewell, “1830. Then that’s it – you’ll be rid of me for a couple of days! Have a good day.”
He later tweeted about reuniting with Sarah Campbell on Thursday’s show, stating, “Something of a @BBCSouthNews reunion on the @BBCBreakfast sofa this morning … @SarahCam3 @mikebreakfast and I worked together on South Today a few years back.”
However, this sparked another worried reaction, with one fan jokingly asking, “Seriously, Roger – are you being held hostage at MediaCity? Blink three times after the 7am heads if you are and we’ll send a rescue party.”
Roger hosted BBC Breakfast alongside Sally Nugent on Monday and Tuesday, filling in for regular presenter Jon Kay, who was absent.
He also stepped in to present the morning show on Wednesday, alongside Nina Warhust, filling in for Sally Nugent, reports the Express.
He returned to host the programme on Thursday with Sarah Campbell, taking over from regular hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt.
Viewers took to social media to express their surprise at seeing Roger on the weekday broadcast. One queried: “Damn! I thought it was Sunday for a minute..What’s Roger Local doing on Breakfast this morning?”
In a light-hearted response, another viewer quipped: “I’d rather have Roger than dad joke Jon.”
BBC Breakfast airs daily at 6am on BBC One.
