Toronto has another jewelry store smash-and-grab robbery to add to its collection.

In a post to social-media site X, Toronto Police said officers were called on Tuesday at around 3:30 p.m. to the Victoria Park-Eglinton Aves. area for reports of a robbery.

Police said bandits arrived with hammers and smashed the glass at an undisclosed jewelry store before fleeing in a vehicle in an unknown direction.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether the robbers made off with merchandise.

It was also not clear whether there were any injuries.

Smash-and-grab robberies have gained attention throughout the GTA during the last month.

Earlier this month, suspects armed with hammers forced entry into a store in the Weston and Rutherford Rds. area of Vaughan and stole cellphones before fleeing in a black sedan and blue hatchback.

On Dec. 30, police were called to two smash-and-grab retail store robberies within minutes of each other in Toronto.

Two 14-year-old boys, a 15-year-old boy and a 20-year-old were charged in connection with the Vaughan robbery and another in the Keele St.-Wilson Ave. area of Toronto.
