Golf legend John Daly has undergone emergency hand surgery in Tampa, Florida, the 58-year-old announced on social media yesterday.
The two-time major champion shared news of the procedure on Instagram, posting a photo from his hospital bed showing his heavily bandaged left hand.
“Emergency hand surgery… thankful it went great and Doc McClimans for taking care of me. Be back playing in no time!” Daly wrote in his post.
In a follow-up message, the popular golfer reassured fans about his recovery, stating: “Should be hitting ’em again soon! Thanks for all the messages.”

While specific details about the nature of the injury remain undisclosed, Daly was treated at a Tampa medical facility.
The photo shared on his Instagram showed the golf star giving a thumbs-up from his hospital bed, with his left hand heavily wrapped in bandages.
Dr McClimans, who performed the procedure, received particular praise from Daly in his social media updates.
The PGA Tour Champions, where Daly competed in 16 events last year, sent their well wishes via social media platform X.
“Wishing John Daly a speedy recovery!” the tour posted.
Daly recently competed alongside his son, John Daly II, at the PNC Championship in December 2024.

The father-son duo have become fan favourites at the tournament, which features professional golfers playing with family members.
The pair previously claimed victory at the event in 2021 and secured a second-place finish in 2022.
Just days before his surgery, Daly had welcomed the new year in characteristic style, sharing a video of himself hitting a drive over a street whilst holding a lit cigarette.
