Pub chain Wetherspoons is to open pubs on five holiday parks after a successful link-up with leisure firm Haven.
The pub chain trialled an opening at the Primrose Valley holiday park in Yorkshire and is now expanding that to Haven sites at Cleethorpes Beach, Devon Cliffs, Kent Coast and Haggerston Castle, in Northumberland.
Haven has invested £6.7m into the expansion of the new pubs, as part of a broader £8.3m investment into its food and drink offerings for 2025, which also includes two new Burger Kings at Hopton Holiday Park at Great Yarmouth and Lakeland Holiday Park.
Simon Palethorpe, Haven’s chief executive, said: “We are delighted to expand our partnership with J D Wetherspoon by introducing four new pubs at our parks. The success of The Five Stones at Primrose Valley reflects our ongoing efforts to grow and enhance our food and beverage partnerships and offerings, and we look forward to bringing this experience to even more locations across the UK for our guests and holiday homeowners to enjoy.”
John Hutson, CEO at JD Wetherspoon said: “We look forward to the opening of the four new Wetherspoon pubs at Haven holiday parks. Our pub at Primrose Valley has proven a great success and we are confident that the four new pubs will be welcomed by guests and owners.”
Since opening last February, the etherspoon pub The Five Stones at Primrose Valley has already seen over 168,000 draught pints poured, 25,000 bottles of beer and cider served, and nearly 200,000 soft drinks enjoyed by guests. Almost 400,000 meals have been served.
Haven was acquired by investment group Blackston in 2021, since when it has invested more than £400m in its parks around the UK. The company operates 41 holiday parks around England, Scotland and Wales, which are all in coastal locations.
