A popular snack food is being recalled by a supermarket after it was found to be a “possible health risk”. A feature of midweek kids’ dinners and party spreads, the pack of cocktail sausage rolls from Farmfoods is affected due to a labelling errors.

Issuing a recall, the Food Standards Agency said: “David Wood Baking Ltd is recalling Farmfoods 50 Cocktail Sausage Rolls because the pack contains cheese and onion rolls which contain milk, which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.”

The exact product affected is Farmfoods 50 Cocktail Sauage Rolls, with a pack size of 700g. The batch code is L4295 and the best before date is the end of October 2025.

The FSA added: “David Wood Baking Ltd is recalling the above product. Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.

“If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store it was bought from for a full refund. For more information contact David Wood Baking Ltd on 07585 400611 or [email protected]

About allergy alerts

The FSA explained: “Sometimes there will be a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold. Then it might be ‘withdrawn’ (taken off the shelves) or ‘recalled’ (when customers are asked to return the product). Sometimes foods have to be withdrawn or recalled if there is a risk to consumers because the allergy labelling is missing or incorrect or if there is any other food allergy risk. When there is a food allergy risk, the FSA will issue an Allergy Alert.”
