Royal Mail, the UK’s universal postal service provider, typically delivers parcels and letters six days a week, from Monday to Saturday. However, there are instances when delivery may not be possible due to reasons such as inaccessible or unsafe addresses, inability to gain entry, or improper packaging of items.
While Royal Mail’s air, rail, road and mail centre networks were reported to have “operated to schedule” over the weekend, the company has warned of potential delivery delays across the country today, Tuesday, January 14. The postal service explained that these disruptions could be due to high levels of sick absence, resourcing issues, or other local factors affecting delivery offices.
In such cases, Royal Mail reassured customers that they would rotate deliveries to minimise individual delays. According to the company, 33 postcodes are most affected by today’s delays, including three serviced by the Boston Delivery Office in Lancashire, four in Oxford East, and three in Manchester South East, reports the Express.
