JUSTIN IS STILL AROUND

Trudeau hasn’t resigned yet. He still is leader of the Liberals and still has power. It’s like when Jagmeet Singh tore up his agreement with Trudeau, saying he will take him down — but yet kept voting in favour of Trudeau. A resignation is when you leave the office or your job and do not stay there until you find someone else. Here’s the definition of resignation in Wikipedia: “Resignation is the formal act of leaving or quitting one’s office or position. A resignation can occur when a person holding a position gained by election or appointment steps down, but leaving a position upon the expiration of a term, or choosing not to seek an additional term, is not considered resignation.” So, don’t say he’s resigned.

(He is still clinging on. We are just waiting for him to announce some sort of world farewell tour to spend more of our money on his way out)

CHERRY GOES BUT NOT TRUDEAU?

After all the good he had done across the decades, how could Canadians boot Don Cherry from the airwaves overnight, yet retain (for more than nine years) a prime minister who repeatedly lied about deeply offensive behaviour, was involved in multiple political scandals, and who trampled their rights? This is beyond the understanding of an American observer.

(It was such a weak corporate response to the online mob to fire Don Cherry)

FARCICAL RACE

Would someone, not a Liberal presently in government or a supporter, please explain to me how someone who has not been duly elected in a proper election and does not have a seat in Parliament can run for prime minister. What a farce — Mark Carney should not be allowed to run and Canadians should be outraged.

(Alas, that is how our system works — the leader of the governing party becomes PM)

IN FOR 51

Can Trump and Trudeau please speed things up a bit on this 51st state thing? I’m going to Florida in March and I don’t want to pay the exchange.
