Conservative commentator Tim Young has launched a scathing attack on former Second Lady Karen Pence following her behaviour at Jimmy Carter’s funeral last week.

Speaking on GBN America, Young criticised Pence’s decision not to greet President-elect Donald Trump at the service, stating: “My favourite part was Karen Pence not shaking Donald Trump’s hand because you see these so-called ultimate Christians for who they are.”

He went further, bluntly declaring: “Karen Pence is trash.”

Pence remained seated and stared straight ahead as Trump arrived at the National Cathedral for the state funeral, according to footage from the event.

The snub came despite her husband, former Vice President Mike Pence, sharing a handshake with Trump – their first interaction since the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot.

Pence, who was wearing a Karl Lagerfeld dress with embellished collar, had previously campaigned for Trump’s re-election in 2020 before the insurrection.

Young also directed criticism at Vice President Kamala Harris’s presence at the funeral, suggesting it marked the end of her political aspirations.

“I think it’s the final nail in the coffin, she knows her political career is over,” Young said on GBN America.

He added: “She may be a candidate in 2028, in the primary, but she’s yet to get a vote in the primary. I think she knows this is the beginning of the end of her.”

Trump and former President Barack Obama were seated next to each other during the service, engaging in what appeared to be an engrossing conversation that included moments of laughter.

Young characterised this interaction as particularly damaging for Harris, stating: “I think the moment Trump spoke to Obama is an insult to injury because she was a pick from Obama.”

“Joe Biden didn’t know what he was doing when he was in office the entire time,” Young added. “So seeing Obama having a good conversation with Trump was kind of the end of the end for her.”
