Former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has thanked fans for their “beautiful messages” after announcing she is expecting twins with on-off boyfriend Zion Foster.

The 33-year-old singer took to Instagram on Monday to express her gratitude for the overwhelming support she has received since revealing her pregnancy news.

The announcement came just 24 hours after Nelson shared the surprising news that she was “eating for 3” in a social media post featuring a photo of her growing baby bump alongside Foster.

In her Instagram story, Nelson shared a video showing her blossoming baby bump whilst wearing Powerpuff Girls pyjama bottoms and an Outkast T-shirt.

The star opted for minimal makeup and wore her red hair in natural curls as she rubbed her bump before blowing a kiss to the camera.

Addressing her 9.7 million followers, Nelson wrote: “Just wanted to say thank you so much for all of your beautiful msgs over the past 24 hours, we feel so overwhelmed with all the love and support.”

Nelson announced her pregnancy on Sunday with a striking photo showing her wearing a white sports bra and camouflage patterned sweatpants.

In the image, she was seen tenderly cradling her bump while Zion Foster stood behind her.

The photo was accompanied by the caption “She’s eating for 3 now” along with two baby emojis, confirming she is expecting twins.

The announcement prompted an outpouring of congratulatory messages from fans and friends, including her Love Island ex Chris Hughes.

They briefly reunited before breaking up again five months ago, with Foster, 26, commenting on social media that Nelson was a “beautiful woman inside and out” and wishing her “nothing but the best.”

The pair had been working on music together, with an EP reportedly ready for release before their September split, though sources claimed Nelson no longer wanted it released.

Their latest reunion was confirmed with the pregnancy announcement photo.

Nelson first rose to fame on The X Factor in 2011 as part of Little Mix, achieving 17 top-10 singles and five number-one singles on the UK Singles Chart.

She departed the group in December 2020, citing mental health concerns and the pressures of being in a girl group.

Her former bandmates Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock have yet to publicly congratulate her on the pregnancy news.

This mirrors a similar situation from 2021 when Nelson did not publicly acknowledge Leigh-Anne and Perrie’s pregnancies.

Nelson revealed in August 2021 that she was no longer in contact with her former bandmates, telling The Guardian: “I still love them to pieces. They were like my sisters.”
