Holiday camp giant Haven has revealed plans for a significant expansion of JD Wetherspoon pubs across four of its holiday parks. Today, the company declared its intention to develop new punting establishments at Cleethorpes Beach, Devon Cliffs, Kent Coast, and Haggerston Castle—representing a £6.7 million part of an overarching £8.3 million investment designed to bolster its food and beverage services for 2025.

This follows the inception of a Wetherspoon outlet at Primrose Valley in Yorkshire just the previous year. Haven’s commitment will see the unveiling of the four fresh JD Wetherspoon pubs in March 2025 at the respective locations: Cleethorpes Beach in Lincolnshire, Devon Cliffs in Devon, the Kent Coast in Kent, and Haggerston Castle in Northumberland. .

The pub openings are a facet of Haven’s more extensive strategy, which includes a £100 million injection into their parks throughout 2024. This fund is set to finance new initiatives, provide additional pitches, expand the fleet, among other enhancements.

Over half a decade, Haven has launched 60 new venues, embracing both their proprietary brands and collaboration with franchise partners. The alliance with J D Wetherspoon elevates Haven’s franchise partnership count to six, sharing space with esteemed brands like Burger King, Papa Johns, Millie’s Cookies, Slim Chickens, and Chopstix, reports Chronicle Live.

Simon Palethorpe, Haven’s Chief Executive, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership growth, saying: “We are delighted to expand our partnership with J D Wetherspoon by introducing four new pubs at our parks.”

“The success of The Five Stones at Primrose Valley reflects our ongoing efforts to grow and enhance our food and beverage partnerships and offerings, and we look forward to bringing this experience to even more locations across the UK for our guests and holiday homeowners to enjoy.”

John Hutson, CEO of JD Wetherspoon, expressed his anticipation for the opening of four new Wetherspoon pubs at Haven holiday parks. “Our pub at Primrose Valley has proven a great success and we are confident that the four new pubs will be welcomed by guests and owners.”

Since its opening in February 2024, The Five Stones at Primrose Valley, a J D Wetherspoon pub, has already served over 168,000 draught pints, 25,000 bottles of beer and cider, and nearly 200,000 soft drinks.

In addition, they have served 67,000 breakfasts and sold 314,000 main meals, excluding sides and extras. Haven, which was acquired by Blackstone in 2021, has invested over £410 million in its parks across 2021, 2022 and 2023, with a commitment to upgrading and modernising all holiday sites to offer guests an unforgettable holiday experience.

Haven owns and operates 41 award-winning family holiday parks throughout England, Scotland and Wales. They offer a full programme of activities and entertainment alongside being located next to some of Britain’s most beautiful beaches and brightest resorts, making them a great base for exploring the local area.
