Aldi has launched its first hot cross buns of 2025, with prices starting from just 18p per bun, despite Christmas celebrations having barely concluded.

The supermarket chain is getting an early start on Easter treats, with its initial batch of seasonal buns now available on shelves across the country.

Shoppers can choose from a luxury option priced slightly higher than its Village Bakery selection.

They also have the choice Everyday Essentials Hot Cross Buns, expanding the selection available to customers.

The Specially Selected Luxury Fruited Hot Cross Buns, priced at £1.49 for a pack of four, feature sultanas, currants, and mixed peel.

For a cheaper option, Aldi’s Village Bakery Fruited Hot Cross Buns are available at £1.09 for six buns.

The Village Bakery buns are described as soft and lightly spiced, ideal for toasting and serving with butter.

All varieties, including the Specially Selected Luxury Fruited Hot Cross Buns, Village Bakery Fruited Hot Cross Buns and Everyday Essentials Hot Cross Buns, are now available in Aldi stores nationwide.

Customers are advised to watch for additional hot cross bun varieties, which will be introduced to stores as Easter approaches.

The early launch gives shoppers plenty of time to sample the traditional Easter treats well ahead of the holiday season.

This is not the only easter rollout the supermarket has been doing.

The budget supermarket is also offering Filled Mini Eggs, priced at £1.99 for 150g, which have already created a buzz on social media.
