Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has separated from his wife Cristina Serra after 30 years together, according to reports in Spain.
The split between the 53-year-old City boss and Serra was decided in December, with only their inner circle initially made aware of the decision.
The couple, who married in 2014 in an intimate ceremony near Barcelona, have maintained what Spanish media describe as a “totally cordial, stable and friendly” relationship.
Guardiola and Serra first met in 1994 when he was a 23-year-old player at Barcelona, and she was 20.

The couple met while Guardiola was modelling for designer Antonio Miro in Serra’s shop in the Spanish city.
Though their relationship began three decades ago, they did not marry until 2014.
The couple have three children together: Maria, 24, Marius, 22, and Valentina, 17.
The couple had been living apart since 2019, when Serra returned to Barcelona to oversee her family’s fashion business, Serra Claret.
While Serra split her time between Barcelona and London, Guardiola remained in Manchester, making regular trips to Spain to visit his family.
Despite the physical distance, the couple maintained their relationship for several years before their recent separation.

Despite their separation, the couple have remained close, spending Christmas together with their three children.
Serra was present in Istanbul in June 2023 when City clinched the Champions League final against Inter Milan, celebrating the historic Treble with Guardiola on the pitch.
The pair were also spotted together at Wimbledon in July 2024.
Their continued amicable relationship has been evident at various public appearances, with Serra regularly seen supporting Guardiola at major City victories.

In January 2024, Guardiola spoke warmly about his wife, saying: “My wife is the best in the world at many things, especially fashion. She says normally to me, don’t wear this or wear that, so I follow.”
The Manchester City manager added: “I’m smart enough to know when people are much better than me, follow their advice.”
Their trusted friends and family have been asked not to disclose any further information about the separation, according to Spanish media.
