Renowned broadcaster Fearne Cotton has given fans a candid glimpse into her personal life.

In a recent interview with Hello magazine, the 43-year-old made an honest admission about her current circumstances, stating: “I can’t pretend everything’s going swimmingly. I think we all know that’s not true.”

This comes just weeks after she revealed the end of her marriage to Jesse Wood, son of Rolling Stone’s Ronnie Wood.

The couple, who share two children, announced their split on Instagram, with Fearne writing: “It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that Jesse and I are ending our marriage.”

She added that their “priority will always be” their two children. The news of her separation follows shortly after Fearne disclosed that she had found two lumps on her jaw.

Sharing this information for the first time with her Instagram followers, she said: “I’m very grateful they’re benign but they do need to come out because they’re on a nerve. So I’m gonna have that surgery, and then I’m gonna be resting to get better before Christmas,” reports Lancs Live.

After having the tumours removed and taking some time to rest, Fearne reflected on her situation, saying: “I’m feeling really well having had time to reflect on life. There’s a dangerous female trait of putting everyone else first, but I’m learning to make more time for myself again,” in her conversation with Hello magazine.

The discovery of her benign tumours comes just shortly after fellow presenter and close friend, Davina McCall recently went through her own health ordeal after having had a benign brain tumour removed.

And, Fearne used her post on Instagram to pay tribute to Davina after the Big Brother star had been a beacon of light amid her health issues: “It’s obviously so weird that only a couple of months ago Davina told me about her tumour and then weeks later I was calling her having discovered mine.

“I’m not only lucky she’s a bloody good mate but also a beacon of light and positivity when it comes to this stuff.”

The Cleveland Clinic explains that benign tumours, also referred to as benign neoplasms or benign growths, are non-cancerous and do not spread to other parts of the body. Although they typically don’t present symptoms, in some instances, they can exert pressure on nearby tissues and organs.

The presenter, who began her career in children’s television in 2003, saw her career take off when she co-hosted Top of the Pops: Saturday with Simon Grant. She quickly became a familiar face on national television, appearing on shows such as Celebrity Juice on ITV with Keith Lemon.
