The struggle of drying laundry indoors during the chilly months is a well-known hassle, particularly with bulky items like towels and bedding.

Given the UK’s unpredictable weather, many find themselves unable to dry their laundry outside, leaving them no choice but to use indoor clothes airers. However, these items can take a while to dry and occupy precious space inside the home.

It’s also commonly understood that drying laundry indoors contributes to the risk of damp and mould due to increased moisture levels.

However, a cleaning guru on the internet has shared a straightforward hack that could significantly cut down the time it takes to dry your clothes, and it appears to be a huge hit.

Lynsey Crombie, known to many as the Queen of Clean, suggests an additional step during the wash cycle to speed up the drying process, reports the Express.

She recently posted a TikTok video, which attracted over 27k views, in which she explains this time-saving technique. The solution, according to her, is simply running an extra spin cycle – a quick task that usually lasts less than 10 minutes.

In her own words: “Don’t forget guys, at this time of year when you’ve finished washing your towels and bedding, make sure you leave it in, turn your dial and give it an extra spin.

“It’s only going to take 10 minutes, but it’s going to make a massive difference to your drying time.”

But don’t just take her word for – it numerous commenters have agreed that this hack is a game-changer for drying laundry indoors during the chilly winter months.

One individual commented: “I do this after your advice Lyndsey at it definitely does make a difference.”

Someone else shared their method: “I do 2 extra spin cycles. It makes such a difference!”

Another commenter recommended: “I do a spin and drain as I find a lot of stuff dries quicker.”

And yet another person agreed, saying: “I always give it an extra spin.”
