Scott Thomas is set to rejoin the Love Island villa in a fresh attempt to find romance on the ITV show. Fans will know him for his 2016 appearance on the reality dating show, but a lot has changed since then.

The now 36-year-old has left his life as a club promoter behind since leaving the villa, launching his own public relations firm, The Social PR. He has also begun podcasting alongside this.

But, his relationship with Kady McDermott didn’t last. After coming in third place, the pair stayed together in the ‘real world’ until splitting up in August 2017.

Away from business and leisure, the brother to TV soap stars Adam and Ryan Thomas, made a significant health discovery. Diagnosed with ADHD in 2024 after comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, he mentioned that the discovery “wouldn’t come as a surprise to people that knew him”.

The Manchester-born celebrity got a diagnosis to understand himself better, but it is a rare one. According to NHS figures, ADHD is a condition affecting an estimated 3–4% of UK adults.

Despite this, many adults likely remain undiagnosed, reports the Mirror. Signs and symptoms are said to be more subtle in adults compared to children, leading to the true number of cases across the UK acutally being much higher.

There is also less research and evidence that experts can use regarding an adult diagnosis of ADHD. However, a short list has been drawn up by the NHS with common possible signs to look out for:

  1. Carelessness and lack of attention to detail
  2. Continually starting new tasks before finishing old ones
  3. Poor organisational skills
  4. Inability to focus or prioritise
  5. Continually losing or misplacing things
  6. Forgetfulness
  7. Restlessness and edginess
  8. Difficulty keeping quiet, and speaking out of turn
  9. Blurting out responses and often interrupting others
  10. Mood swings, irritability and a quick temper
  11. Inability to deal with stress
  12. Extreme impatience
  13. Taking risks in activities, often with little or no regard for personal safety or the safety of others – such as driving dangerously

If you suspect that you may have ADHD, it’s crucial to consult with a healthcare professional. They can assist in determining whether your symptoms align with the criteria for an ADHD diagnosis. Remember, only a healthcare professional can officially diagnose ADHD.

For adults who believe they may have ADHD, your GP will evaluate your symptoms and may refer you for further assessment. Information about the assessment and diagnostic process is available on the NHS website.
