The Masked Singer is back on our screens, featuring a fresh lineup of celebrities competing in elaborate costumes to wow the judges with their vocal talents and claim the top spot.
One of the mysterious singers, ‘Toad in the Hole’, has left the judges baffled with their cryptic clues, which have been interpreted in various ways. This character dons a purple suit, black coat, white collar, and black trousers, complete with a pie in a blue tin that doubles as a belt.
In a recent episode, Toad in the Hole delivered a rendition of Amy Winehouse’s Valerie, earning praise from the judges for their ‘beautiful voice’. Since then, several hints have been dropped about the identity of Toad in the Hole.
Bookmakers are speculating that former BBC Radio 1 presenter Annie Mac might be hiding behind the costume, with odds of 4/1.
Other possibilities include Macy Gray, who has previously appeared on the US and Australian versions of the show, with odds of 5/1, and boxing legend Mike Tyson with 10/1, reports the Mirror.
Mike Reading, spokesperson for Betway, commented: “The latest season of Masked Singer UK already promises to stir things up, after week one delivered the showstopping reveals of Dame Prue Leith, Kate Garraway, and even Sir Mo Farah as Giant Joel, in a twist to the show’s usual format.
“There’s just a day to go until either Wolf, Toad in the Hole, Bear, Bush or Pufferfish face the final curtain call and are unmasked – in an exit that’s already been teased to be one of the most shocking in the show’s history.
“Already, fans and the panel alike have guessed famous names, from actor David Tennant as Wolf (5/1) to singers Macy Gray as Toad in the Hole (5/1) and Jamie-Lynn Spears as Pufferfish (5/1), and even celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay as Bear (8/1). With the stage set, all eyes will be on which celeb will be revealed in the dramatic unmasking.”
The Masked Singer airs on ITV and ITVX.
