Two people have been arrested after a man was stabbed multiple times in Co Down.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident in Conlig on Tuesday.

On Saturday detectives said a man had been held on suspicion of offences including attempted murder.

A woman has also been arrested on other charges.

Detective Sergeant Cargin said: “Our investigation into the incident, in which a man sustained a number of stab wounds at a property in the Breezemount Close area of Conlig last Tuesday, has been progressing rapidly and has now resulted in the arrest of a 38-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and a 34-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting offenders.

“Both were arrested at an address in Bangor on Friday 10th January and currently remain in police custody.

“Our enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone with information that could assist us to phone 101 quoting reference number 182 07/01/25.”
