This Silentnight electric blanket has been lauded as “one of the best purchases you can make for your sleep”, and costs just pennies to run all night – and best of all, it is now on sale at Amazon.
The online shopping giant has slashed the price of the Silentnight Comfort Control Electric Blanket to up to 33% off, with various sizes available to fit either a Single, a Double, a King-sized, or a Super King-sized bed.
The hypoallergenic heated underblanket is made from a super-snuggly fleece material to keep you extra warm and cosy in bed, and comes with three heat settings that reach their desired temperatures quickly, so you don’t have to wait long for your sheets to warm up before climbing into bed.
What’s more, while some shoppers have described the warmest heat setting as “intense”, the electric blanket also features overheat protection, to give you total peace of mind and help you sleep safely.
The blanket’s product description claims that it costs from just 1p to heat your bed, depending on which setting you opt for, keeping you cosy for much less than the cost of reaching for your thermostat.
And in fact, some customers have claimed that the blanket should “not cost much more than 10p” even if you leave it running all night, providing super-affordable comfort. The blanket is easy and secure to fit with the straps attached, and is machine-washable, so you can fall into fresh bedsheets whenever you wish.
The Silentnight electric blanket would usually cost anywhere from £30 to £55, depending on the size you chose. But now, in Amazon’s sale, you can get it for just £19 for a Single, or £38.99 for a Super King size, reports The Mirror.
The blanket is currently ranked as the number one bestseller among Amazon’s Electric Bed Blankets offerings, and has been given a customer rating of 4.4 stars, with over 47,000 reviews.
One happy shopper wrote: “Amazing, we love this. It’s the best thing I have bought all winter. You can feel it warming up within about 3 minutes of turning it on. It comes with straps that go all the way under the mattress, which is great as it doesn’t slip off through the night.
“The controller is easy to use and has three settings, three being the warmest setting. You slide the dial to each setting and it clicks into place so it cant be accidently knocked onto a different setting, it really provides peace of mind as well. We only have it on for about 15 minutes a night to warm up the bed before we get in, but it’s great.”
Another added: “Sinking into a toasty warm bed in the middle of December has to be one of the best feelings ever, can’t believe I waited so long to get one. Easy controls, heats up in about half an hour, blanket stays in place under the sheet pretty well. Great purchase.”
Meanwhile, a third raved: “Genuinely the best purchase I’ve made this year. It’s game changing. You come home from a long day and you have a pre-heated bed. Furthermore, don’t get me started on your sleep quality. I’ve had the best night’s sleep ever with this blanket. 5 Stars, must buy!”
And a fourth buyer commented: “Heats well and evenly, is very comfy to lie on (zero wires can be felt under the sheet) and does the job perfectly. It’s a good, low wattage blanket that will last at least 7 hours on heat setting 2, running off a decent camping battery, which is toasty warm with a good duvet over the top.
“If you’re concerned about the running costs, this is one of the cheaper ones. Shouldn’t cost much more than 10p to run all night. If you already have a heated throw then between the two you’ll be affordably snuggly no matter how cold it gets this year.”
However, not everyone was completely satisfied, as some customers who purchased the Super King sized electric blanket noted that it was not the right size to fit a Super King bed.
One wrote: “I don’t know if the version we had was perhaps a previous return, but it did not fit our super king mattress as the product image shows. In fact, almost a third of the mattress was not covered by it, and the elastic straps were so loose as to be pretty ineffective (and we have a very thick/deep mattress).
“Honestly, it’s like someone scaled up one of the smaller versions without even quality testing it on a super king mattress. Or maybe we had a dud. Didn’t even try turning it on because the design was so poor, we just packaged it straight back up in the box to return.”
And another added: “This is a decent enough blanket, although the super king size doesn’t quite cover the bed and takes a while to heat up. As previous reviews have stated, you can feel the heating elements to some extent, but I’ve found this in any heated blanket I’ve had, and it doesn’t bother me.”
