NO GUARANTEES

I love the strength and confidence of Brian Lilley’s column (“We need to elect a new PM to stand up to Trump now,” Jan. 7) But really? Canadians have been beating down both the Liberal and NDP for neglecting their responsibilities (especially the NDP). It’s gotten us nowhere. Rioting in the streets? Look what happened when the truckers peacefully protested in the streets. Things will only get worse until an election is held. And even then, given the socialist leanings in our larger cities, that’s not even a guarantee.

(Canadians are clamouring for a change and Trudeau sort of resigning won’t cut it this time around. Even with a new leader, the Liberals won’t have much new to offer the country)
TRUDEAU EMPTIED OUR WALLETS
Trudeau did nothing, nada, zilch to help Canada. Other than cause division and empty the treasury, that sums up his career. Jagmeet Singh was his buddy all along despite his hollow claims. Why didn’t he bring the Liberals down before the break? All could have been quiet until Parliament resumed, then wham! No. He had to warn his buddy that he would bring down the Liberals at the first opportunity. Wouldn’t you like to have a six-week notice that someone was going to kick your ass down the road? This allowed Trdueau to prorogue, avoid a non-confidence and save face. At the same time, our do-nothing Governor General could have said “no” to Trudeau but in the usual weak, protect-each-other Liberal fashion she caved. She could have made a profound statement that Canada would not accept this behaviour. But alas no. The Liberals are the slimiest government ever and not a one of them has ever had a Canada-first attitude. Let’s hope that we ditch Trudeau, Singh, Joly and the wannabee Freeland in one fell swoop. It’s politicians like them who give politicians like them a bad name.
