Jake Paul looks set to leave the world of boxing behind after his controversial victory over Mike Tyson and take up a new sport.

Paul beat Tyson on points on November 15, 2024, though the fight was a complete mismatch in truth.

Nevertheless, the bout, which was professionally sanctioned, saw Paul go 11-1 in the ring – having lost just once in a clash against Tommy Fury.

But having signed up for Professional Fights League – a fast-growing MMA label looking to rival the UFC – Paul looks set to ditch boxing for mixed martial arts.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer joined in 2023, with promotional partner Nakisa Bidarian also sharing equity.

Speaking to The Sun, PFL founder Donn Davis said: “Nakisa has three names that he’s focused on.

“I don’t want to share those because I don’t think that’ll help, Nakisa and Jake get those done. They’re really good at that.

“So I don’t think it’s one name. I think there’s a group of three that would be extremely good and they’re working on this.”

Paul signed for the PFL a month before his defeat to Fury, which came in February 2023.

There had been talk of a rematch with the younger Fury brother, which still might happen, but a move to the MMA now looks on the cards.

Most recently, the 27-year-old courted controversy for fighting Tyson, 58, in November last year due to the huge age gap.

Nevertheless, 100 million people tuned in across the world to watch the event on Netflix.

Shields, who is the most decorated female boxer of all time, reacted furiously when it was put to her that Paul would win because he is a man, saying: “Get the (expletive) out of here. Stop it.”

Shields added: “People who are against that are just sexist and they don’t know boxing.

“It’s very strange to me that they think that a YouTuber can beat a woman boxer who has two Olympic gold medals, (multiple) world titles and fought as a heavyweight.”
