Gemma Collins has unveiled a physical transformation on her Instagram after claiming to have been keeping a “secret” from her fans. In a video, Collins shared a video saying she would be starting 2025 “two sizes down” thanks to a “weight loss app and medication”.

The reality star stunned her over two million followers with the reveal, saying it has “changed my life”, telling her fans: “If you, like me, have done every diet your whole life, I’ve got to 43 and I’ve finally found something that I actually lost weight on.”

The video is in paid partnership with a company called Yazen, which prescribes what it describes as weight-loss jabs and offers round-the-clock support. “I will finally be free,” Collins said.

Gemma said she’d decided to start taking medication – which is listed on Yazen’s website as GLP-1 weight loss injections – because it will allow her to “finally be able to live my best life and just be free from all that upset and stress and turmoil that comes with constantly trying to lose excess weight.”

She also claimed to have seen the results first-hand around her from friends using the app. According to OK!, a source said the transformation had been a long time coming.

The source said: “Gemma’s tried almost every diet going and nothing has ever really worked for her, but she’s always said she wants to be healthy. She isn’t just focused on how she looks, this is about her wanting to be as healthy as possible and feel confident.”

The 43-year-old has shared her health and fitness journey openly across her social media, she reportedly lost around three stone between 2019 and 2024, and revealed she was even considering trying for a baby with her fiancé Rami Hawash.

Gemma’s attempts to address her weight once and for all isn’t driven by anything other than her desire to be healthy and happy, the source said, saying: “It isn’t about looking good on her wedding day or anything, she’s doing this for herself.”

A few of her fans questioned in the comments what happened to her recent fibre-first approach, which Gemma claimed was the key to helping her manage her weight when she worked with health coach Steve Bennett, last summer.

While the results were clear for all to see, nutritionist and personal trainer Niki Woods says anyone considering taking GLP-1 injections need to consider very carefully what they’re doing to their body.

“Any way of eating which drastically reduces your calorie intake – and especially anything which reduces it dramatically below your needs – is likely to lead to significant loss of lean muscle,” she said.

“Anyone using GLP-1 injections (or any other weight-loss method) should focus on the quality of their nutrition, especially ensuring they get enough protein, and should weight train following a regular, progressive programme, to ensure they’re giving their body the best chance to preserve precious muscle.”
