Fans of The Simpsons have hailed the opening of four themed cafes in the UK – with more planned to open in the near future.
The long-running animated sitcom has taken over Primark in Cardiff, with further Simpsons cafes opening in Birmingham, Belfast and Manchester’s The Trafford Centre. Two more branches will open later this week, meanwhile, north of the border in Edinburgh and Braehead.
TikTok user Melissa Frances has already sampled what the café has to offer and fans of the show will be delighted to know there’s a variety of food on offer – including pink ring doughnuts famously enjoyed by Homer since The Simpsons became household names in 1989.
The shop cafe’s are operated by The Immersive Cafe company, who penned in excitement: “Calling all Simpsons fans! Springfield’s favourite family have arrived at the Primark Cafes! Check it out for all the treats!”
Day Out With The Kids, meanwhile, showcased the cafe’s menu, highlighting American-style waffles, “amazing” milkshakes (which come with a doughnut on top) and toasties. As you’d expect with budget retailer Primark, food prices are relatively modest compared to similar eateries – with Butter Bacon Waffles a stand out at £6.95, he Doughnut Shake will set you back £5.95.
Toasties range from £5.50 to £6.95, whilst diners can also pick up a series of hot drinks and iced lattes as well as sweet treats including doughnuts sold singularly and in boxes of four and nine. The cafe’s replace Primark’s Grinch theme – that was in place for the festive season.
“I can’t believe this place exists!” hailed one excited TikTok user. A second praised: “Omg that toastie looks amazing!” A third added: “Shakes look nice!” Whilst a fourth said: “If I had known I would have went earlier while I was in town!”
The aforementioned signature Butter Bacon Waffle features a waffle with bacon, butter, caramel sauce, fudge pieces and whipped cream, whilst a shortbread version incorporates a strawberry pie filling alongside shortbread biscuit, white chocolate sauce, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.
As well as The Doughnut shake, fans can also sample the Nuts & Bubblegum Shake – a blend of bubblegum milkshake, whipped cream, mixed nuts, bubblegum sauce, sprinkles and a piece of bubblegum. Standard milkshakes are available too – in strawberry, chocolate and vanilla flavours – and customers are able to purchase their themed cups to take home.
