Princess Kate’s sapphire engagement ring has made a stunning reappearance.
The Princess of Wales is celebrating her 43rd birthday today, and her husband Prince William took to social media to share a brand new photograph.
The picture, taken by Matt Porteous, showed the princess wearing her iconic sapphire engagement ring, previously worn by the late Princess Diana.
On several occasions in 2024, Kate was photographed not wearing her ring.

Instead, the mother-of-three would wear a distinctive eternity band featuring sapphires and diamonds.
The eternity band was notably visible when the Princess of Wales joined Prince William to meet bereaved families of the Southport stabbing victims in September, marking her first joint official outing since completing treatment.
However, Diana’s engagement ring is firmly back on Kate’s finger in time for her 43rd birthday.
Alongside the photograph, William issued the following statement: “To the most incredible wife and mother.

As well as her engagement ring, Kate looked casual in a black jacket, white blouse and jeans.
She posed with her hands in her pocket and her slightly-curled brunette hair looked amazing on the Princess of Wales.

Matt Porteous has taken pictures of William, Kate and their children many times, as well as accompanying them on royal tours.
It comes after the King and Queen shared their own tribute to Kate this morning, while many members of the public and Kate’s patronages have also sent well wishes.
Taking to their Instagram account, the King and Queen shared a sweet photo of Kate from her Christmas Day walk at Sandringham,
They added a sweet caption reading: “Happy birthday to the Princess of Wales,” atop the photo of her beaming and holding a bunch of flowers.
