Relationships can be challenging, yet they’re incredibly fulfilling when everything falls into place. It’s even more complex when a relationship involves three people, but James, Sarah, and Hunter have found a way to navigate their unique dynamic successfully.
“My friend turned my boyfriend bi,” Sarah revealed during an episode of Love Don’t Judge on YouTube. She explained that she and James had been high school sweethearts, with James never having experienced a same-sex attraction until he developed feelings for Sarah’s best mate, Hunter, who is openly gay.
Hunter confessed his affection for Sarah was “a little bit more than a friend” but also acknowledged, “At the same time, I knew I was gay – so I was a little confused”. Both Sarah and James identify as “bisexual”, while Hunter considers himself “biromantic”.
Their paths crossed when Sarah and James were house-hunting and stumbled upon Hunter, which led to their close bond. Before meeting Hunter, the idea of a threesome had never occurred to Sarah, who admits to being “a jealous person”, nor had it ever remotely crossed her mind. Similarly, Hunter had always leaned towards “prefers monogamy”.
Despite this, Hunter is now in a relationship with both of them. It may be unconventional, but the trio say they couldn’t be happier. Sarah said her feelings “never diminished” when she noticed a connection with Hunter. They’ve also managed to come up with a system when it comes to intimacy.
When asked the question: “Who has sex with who?” The throuple shared that Sarah and James have sex, James and Hunter have sex, and Hunter “pleases” Sarah in other ways, as he only likes men sexually.
Meanwhile, the “number one question” they get asked is about their sleeping arrangements. It turns out, they do “all sleep in the same bed” and “take turns” to be in different positions.
Sadly, the trio have had hate comments online due to their alternative lifestyles. Some tell them “it’s just a phase”, accusing them of not loving each other and it just being “for fun”.
Critics even say: “You’ll enjoy yourselves and then just go back to your normal life,” which the three of them completely disagree with. And friends “didn’t get it” either. They were even “weirded out” by their lifestyle – but the throuple refuses to let them hold them back.
James revealed Sarah and Hunter have helped him to be the “best version” of himself. He gushed: “I’ll never be able to thank you both enough for all of the love and support – you truly make me the happiest guy in the world…
“It’s our lives, and we’re gonna live it the way that we wanna live it, honestly. Just keep the judgement to yourselves. If you really don’t like it, don’t look.”
Since sharing their story on YouTube, the throuple has received plenty of positive comments. One wrote: “A lot of people are in open relationships nowadays. Some people are monogamous, while other people are polygamous. Whatever makes you happy!”
Another said: “They seem happy. That’s all that matters.” And a third added: “This is the type of relationship I want to be in because I’m bisexual.”
