Meghan Markle’s Instagram following has surged by 200,000 after sharing rare footage of her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, on the social media platform.
The Duchess of Sussex’s follower count jumped from 1.2 million to 1.4 million following the intimate posts on her new @meghan account.
The unprecedented move marks a significant shift for the typically private mother, who has previously released only a handful of photographs of her children.
The personal content appeared in a tribute post to her beloved dog Guy, featuring footage of Archie walking the pet and images of Lilibet playing with him.

Meghan’s new Instagram account, launched on New Year’s Day, has featured three posts in eight days, blending professional and personal content.
The posts include a trailer for her upcoming cooking show alongside intimate family moments.
Her tribute to Guy, spanning over 300 words, offered rare glimpses into her private life, with references to “H and I,” her engagement, marriage and journey to motherhood.
In the emotional post, she reflected on Guy’s presence during significant life moments, noting how he had been there for “everything: the quiet, the chaos, the calm, the comfort.”
The rescue dog’s story included details of his adoption in 2015 and a serious accident before Meghan’s move to the UK.
Social media experts suggest Meghan’s new approach could prove highly lucrative.
“Engagement is everything. You’ve got to work at it. You get back what you put in,” Warren Johnson, founder of W Communications, told The Daily Beast.
Celebrity social media director Gary Frayter of Kronus Communications believes the duchess could command significant fees for her posts.
LATEST ROYAL NEWS:
“Having managed social media for Mike Tyson’s podcast and other celebrities, I’ve seen firsthand what they earn. I’d argue Meghan could easily pull in £100K per post, minimum,” said Frayter.
Industry experts predict Meghan’s social media presence is set to become a permanent fixture.
The timing of Meghan’s personal posts appears linked to her upcoming Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan,” set to launch next week.
The dog tribute post referenced Meghan’s new series, explaining she was sharing the news because “many of you will now see Guy in this new series.”
