Marcus Rashford would end his own reputation in England if he leaves Manchester United for a foreign club in the January transfer window.
That’s according to former Premier League star Glen Johnson, who feels the forward should resist the temptation to head overseas.
Rashford’s time at United appears to be drawing to a close, with the forward failing to impress Ruben Amorim since the 39-year-old’s arrival in November.
His form had previously nosedived under Erik ten Hag and, with United planning big changes on and off the field, they’re open to parting ways with their academy graduate.

Tottenham have been linked with a shock move, though it’s unclear if the Red Devils would do business with a direct rival.
Italian clubs AC Milan, Como, Napoli and Juventus have all emerged as potential suitors for the winger, too, while teams in Saudi Arabia are showing interest.
But Johnson, who had spells with Chelsea, West Ham and Portsmouth during his own playing days, feels he should stay in England because going abroad would be the ‘end of his reputation’.
“From the outside, it doesn’t look as though Marcus Rashford has a future at the club,” the former England star told BetVictor.

“He’s still a very good player that can offer an awful lot.
“I don’t know what the internal arguments are, but if it’s not down to his character and personality then I think he’ll get a lot of offers because of his ability.
“However, if he’s not training with the group because of his character or behaviour, then all of a sudden the list of clubs who will be willing to take him gets a lot smaller.
“I hope Rashford doesn’t move abroad because, as far as his reputation is concerned, that would be the end of him.
“I know it can be hard to turn down those moves because of the amount of money, but he’s still too young.
“For someone of his ability, he hasn’t really done much in the game yet and if he goes to Saudi Arabia he won’t come back.
“It all depends on the reasons why he isn’t performing, if he’s not happy at United or hasn’t got the desire for it anymore.
“If he still wants to win things then I think he has the ability to sign for a decent team. Unfortunately he does it every other game, rather than week-in, week-out.”

United have continued to toil since the appointment of Amorim, having previously struggled under Ten Hag.
However, there were positive signs on Sunday as they secured a point in a dramatic 2-2 draw with Liverpool.
Amorim has pleaded for patience and Johnson thinks the 39-year-old is capable of turning things around, despite the big job on his hands.
“I like what I’ve seen from Ruben Amorim so far,” he said.

“I like the way he goes about his business and he speaks well.
“He seems like the sort of character that the players will enjoy working with. He’s the type of guy that everyone on the training ground will get along with.
“He’s going to need a lot of time to turn things around at United. He’s got a hard job on his hands but we all knew that was the case before he took it.
“As long as the board and the fans give him time then I can see them bouncing back, but they’ve got a very long way to bounce!”
