The Duchess of Cambridge reportedly has a penchant for a particular superfood that brims with multiple health benefits.

Prince Harry, in his sensational memoir ‘Spare’, divulged that his sister-in-law Kate Middleton harbours a fondness for avocados that contributes to her radiant complexion. Celebrating her 43rd birthday today, the Princess of Wales’ affection for avocados is more than just taste, as they are replete with beneficial nutrients that promote health.

Although Prince Harry’s book highlights the Duchess’s preference for this creamy fruit, evidence of her liking was apparent much earlier when Prince William received an avocado for Kate during Royal duties in 2017, while she was expectant with Prince Louis. Charmed by the thoughtful offering, William commented: “I’ve never been given an avocado before. That’s really sweet of you. Catherine will love the avocado.”

Healthline cites that while avocados, that you can pick up for 75p in Tesco, can lower ‘bad’ LDL cholesterol and enhance ‘good’ HDL cholesterol, further investigation is suggested.

Beyond their cholesterol-modulating effects, avocados are acclaimed for being powerhouses of nutrients, intrinsic healthy fats, protein, and copious vitamins and minerals. They are even associated with diminished risk of heart disease, reports Surrey Live.

Marking her 43rd birthday, the beloved figure acknowledged a challenging year in a heartfelt statement last March.

In tranquil garden surroundings, she faced the nation with poise, disclosing her cancer battle: “It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I have had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me for which I’m so grateful.”

Less than six months after her courageous disclosure, she informed the public that her chemotherapy was complete through a video showing precious moments with her family: “As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.”

She continued to share the toll the experience took on her family: “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”
