A housebuilder has acquired a plot of land in a North Devon village for 150 homes. Following a reserved matters planning application submitted at the end of 2024, Allison Homes South West has now completed the purchase on its largest open-market site to date.
The development, known as Cherry Grove, will see investment in the village of Landkey to create a community of two-, three- and four-bedroom properties, 30% of which will be affordable homes.
Work is expected to start in the spring with the show home set to open in the winter of 2025.
Steve Fowler, managing director at Allison Homes South West, said: “It’s an exciting time at Allison Homes South West as this is our biggest open-market development to date. By working closely with the council and local contractors we’re delighted to be able to provide local people with a great place to live.
“We’re looking forward to commencing work on the first homes this Spring and continuing our journey towards being the housebuilder that homeowners can trust.”
The announcement comes a month after Allison Homes South West agreed a deal to build 70 affordable homes in Tiverton. The housebuilder and housing association LiveWest entered into a development agreement in December to bring the new homes to Post Hill.
The scheme will include one-, two-, three and four-bedroom properties, all of which will be classed as affordable, and delivered as a mixture of shared ownership and social rent for local people.
