Oven trays often end up with stubborn, burnt-on stains that seem to get worse with each use. This can leave the baking tray looking discoloured and unclean, potentially creating an unsanitary cooking environment.
While it might appear that your tray is irretrievably dirty, there’s a natural product that many are unaware of which cleaners swear by. When it comes to natural cleaning products, vinegar and baking soda usually steal the limelight.
However, there’s another contender that works wonders on oven trays – liquid soda crystals. Recently, @thecleangroup shared a video on their Instagram page revealing a “professional cleaner’s burnt-on baking tray secret” that involves “no chemicals” and “no scrubbing”.
The caption read: “I’ll be honest, this one blew me away. I thought there was no saving this tray.
“Meet the unsung hero of kitchen cleaning. It’s a chemical-free product that no one is telling you about. It shifts the wildest of kitchen grime and demolishes burnt-on grime. What is it? Liquid soda crystals. No one will believe you didn’t just buy a new one.”
For this cleaning hack, you’ll also need a cup of baking soda, reports the Express. Begin by sprinkling the baking soda onto the tray.
Then, add half a cup of liquid soda crystal and fill the tray with boiling water. Place the tray on the hob and turn it onto a low heat, leaving it to simmer for 30 to 40 minutes until the toughest stains begin to lift. After rinsing the tray, all the grease and grime were effortlessly washed away.
Cleaning enthusiasts in the comment section were astounded by the results and expressed their surprise at the efficiency of liquid soda crystals. @jonesydoeshome commented: “What a great result! I never think to use soda crystals.”
@mummycleans wrote: “I need to get some soda crystals now.” @rabiassaeed said: “Wow looks like new.”
In response to a user querying if liquid soda crystals could also be used on air fryer baskets, the experts assured: “Absolutely”.
