Human rights activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali has warned of a “cascade” of terrorist attacks on Western soil in 2025, following the deadly ISIS-inspired attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day.
The warning comes just days after Shamsud-Din Jabbar killed 14 people by driving a truck into crowds of holiday revellers.
Speaking to GBN America, Hirsi Ali linked the potential surge in attacks to recent events, stating: “The events after October 7th 2023 and Israel’s retaliation and the fact that America supported Israel or did not condemn Israel enough, is that the Islamists are rekindling this.”
Jabbar, 42, rammed a truck into New Year’s Day crowds in New Orleans before being fatally shot in a firefight with police.

The attacker, known as “Sham” to his schoolmates, had served in the Army from 2007 to 2020, including a deployment to Afghanistan.
Hirsi Ali pointed to current weaknesses in major Islamist movements as a potential trigger for increased violence.
“The Islamist regime of Iran is exposed, all their proxies are taken down. Hezbollah, Hamas is gone, the presence in Syria is gone. And there is even talk that in 2025 that the regime itself could be gone,” she said.
She explained that terrorism is “a tactic of the weak” and suggested that both Iran’s regime and the Muslim Brotherhood are currently in vulnerable positions.

Despite the Muslim Brotherhood maintaining influence through Taliban rule in Afghanistan and connections to Turkey’s government, Hirsi Ali noted they have “lost quite a lot of influence”.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
Hirsi Ali warned that these terrorist attacks could be exploited by what she called “men in suits” claiming to represent moderate Muslims.
“I think the idea is then for the decentralised autonomous organisation, the men in suits who come, who say, let’s talk about this, we represent moderate Muslims,” she told GBN America.
These representatives, she suggested, would offer to help reduce terrorist attacks while relying on progressive support.
“They want that because they’re actually more committed to the infrastructure of Dawah, that’s the long term agenda. Then jihad itself,” she explained.

The New Orleans attack, which left dozens injured alongside the 14 fatalities, was carried out by a man described by former classmates as a “smart student” and “very likeable guy”.
He served in human resources and information technology roles, reaching the rank of staff sergeant before leaving the service in 2020.
Former classmate Smith told reporters that Jabbar may have struggled after leaving the military.
“He probably saw things while he was in the military,” Smith said. “Sometimes it gets really hard and when you are also dealing with financial situations and debt. It shouldn’t make anyone go into violent extremes, but life is hard.”
