Two suspects are sought after police say a man was stabbed when the pair intervened in a fight in the city last week.

Toronto Police say officers responded to a stabbing call in the area of St. Clair Ave. W. and Glenholme Ave. – east of Dufferin St. – shortly after 1 a.m. on Jan. 2.

“It is reported that two men were involved in a physical altercation outside,” Const. Laura Brabant said in a statement Wednesday.

“Two men intervened, and the physical altercation continued,” she said.

One of the two men involved in the initial altercation was stabbed, police say. He was taken to hospital but his injury was not considered life-threatening.

Investigators are now trying to track down two “suspects” — the men who intervened in the fight.

One man is described as about 50 years old, with a heavy build and short blond hair. He was wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans.

The second man is described as having a medium build and was wearing a light-coloured sweater and dark pants.

Anyone who witnessed the altercation, or was in the area at the time and has dashcam or other video that may help investigators, is asked to call police at 416-808-1300 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
