Tiger Woods has revealed his pride in seeing his ‘dream come into reality’ after the inaugural TGL season kicked off on Tuesday.
Both Woods and Rory McIlroy have teamed up to launch the innovative indoor golf league, featuring some of the world’s best players.
The TGL was initially set to launch in January 2024, but the start date was pushed back by a year after the roof collapsed following a storm in Florida.
The SoFi Center was rebuilt with a state-of-the-art tech-infused golf circuit including a green which dynamically transforms between holes to create different topographies.

Both Woods and McIlroy were in attendance for the opening night of the inaugural season on Tuesday with The New York Golf Club facing The Bay Golf Club.
The season will run from January to the end of March, which will culminate in a best-of-three match in the championship series.
The opening match proved a huge hit with fans in attendance booing and cheering as Rickie Fowler dubbed it a ‘glorified man cave’.
Both Woods and McIlroy were clearly delighted at seeing their dream come to fruition as they watched on from the stands.
The 15-time major champion is hopeful that the event will only continue to grow as the season progresses.
“Me and Rory were talking about it, it’s hard to believe that dream came into reality and we’re able to take off into another stratosphere really,” he said.
“Just to have the ability to showcase our sport. It’s not traditional golf, but it is golf and that’s the main thing.
“Providing a different type of atmosphere. These people are out here and I heard a couple of people rooting against Wyndham. You don’t normally hear that at events.

They will face the Los Angeles Golf Club, which features Tommy Fleetwood, Collin Morikawa, Justin Rose and Sahith Theegala.
