Sarah Ferguson’s royal achievement is being seen as a “model for Meghan Markle,” according to a commentator.

The Duchess of Sussex is making a notable return to the spotlight this month with her new Netflix lifestyle series.

“With Love, Meghan” is set to premiere on January 15, marking Meghan’s latest venture into television production.

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield noted that having royals appear on television programmes is not unprecedented for the British monarchy.

Schofield drew parallels between Meghan’s career trajectory and that of Sarah, Duchess of York.

“Meghan’s career path aligns much more with Sarah Ferguson’s than any other rogue royal,” Schofield told Fox News.

Fergie previously starred in television programmes including “The Duchess in Hull” and “The Duchess on the Estate,” where she offered healthy living advice.

Like Meghan’s involvement with Netflix, Fergie also ventured into streaming content with her own series.

She participated in “Finding Sarah: From Royalty to the Real World,” produced by Oprah Winfrey. This connection is particularly notable as both duchesses have worked with Winfrey on television projects.

The culinary world appears to be another shared interest between the two duchesses.

Reports suggest Meghan may soon release her own cookbook. This potential venture would mirror Sarah’s previous publication, “Dining with the Duchess: Making Everyday Meals a Special Occasion.”

“Rumours are swirling that Meghan has a cookbook on the horizon,” Schofield revealed.

“That would pair well with Fergie’s Dining with the Duchess: Making Everyday Meals a Special Occasion cookbook,” she added.

The parallel between their publishing ventures further emphasises the similar paths both women have taken in their post-royal careers.

However, a key distinction exists between the two duchesses’ approaches to their royal connections.

Sarah has maintained a more diplomatic relationship with the Royal Family, according to Schofield.

She noted: “One thing Fergie has achieved that Meghan likely won’t is a foot back in the door with the Royal Family. Sarah has been careful not to be critical of the institution.”

Despite this difference, Meghan’s Netflix series is expected to generate significant attention.

Royal expert Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News that “whether the royals like it or not, Meghan Markle’s Netflix series will continue to spark interest and headlines.”

The series promises to blend celebrity appearances with lifestyle content, featuring notable guests from both entertainment and business sectors. This modern approach marks a departure from Sarah’s more traditional television ventures.
