Marcel Somerville is gearing up to feature in the second series of ITV2’s spin-off show, Love Island All Stars, which is due to air in a few days.

The popular dating programme will welcome back Maya Jama as host, with the setting once again being South Africa. The show will see former islanders return for another shot at finding love.

One participant who could potentially stir up strong reactions from viewers is Marcel. The 39 year old, who was a contestant on the third series in 2017, finished in fourth place alongside Gabby Allen.

Their romance continued outside the villa, but ended when he was unfaithful to her during a holiday. Marcel later fell in love with Rebecca Vieira and they got married in August 2022. However, after accusations of an affair with a US pop star, the TV personality moved out of their shared home and erased all traces of her from his social media in March of the previous year, reports OK!.

She confessed to “cheating” on the Blazin Squad member a few days later and issued a heartfelt apology. Since rejoining the ITV dating show, fans have been surprised to learn that Marcel is still legally married to Rebecca, although they are in the process of getting a divorce.

It remains unclear when they initiated the divorce proceedings. In a conversation with MailOnline, he stated: “I’ve gone through a little bit of a crazy time in my life. I’ll talk more about it at a later time, as I’m not really ready to talk about what’s going on right now. We’re working through the situation to get the best outcome that we can.”

When questioned about potentially appearing on Love Island All Stars, he responded: “I’m married, so doing it isn’t in my view right now, and it wouldn’t have been at the time.”

Upon learning that Marcel and Gabby are set to reunite on Love Island All Stars, Rebecca broke her silence, taking to social media to post a string of photos.
