Siren, a Bristol summer gig series on the Harbourside, has announced the first headliner for its 2025 edition. Indie-electronic legends Bloc Party will be taking to the stage on Friday, July 25, promising an unforgettable show full of hits at Bristol’s Amphitheatre.

Celebrating 20 years of Silent Alarm, the album that truly influenced a generation, Bloc Party’s Siren performance will include hits like Banquet, Helicopter, and Blue Light, among others. Fans can look forward to the band’s signature guitar riffs, unmatched beats and soulful lyrics.

It’s described by the festival’s organisers as being the perfect soundtrack for a summer night in one of Bristol’s most iconic settings, with plenty of energy, and even more nostalgia.

Kele Okereke, Bloc Party’s lead singer and guitarist, said: “When we did the Silent Alarm tour I had to listen to that record from start to finish. I haven’t really done that since it was made.

“I think that kind of energy we felt when we were performing those songs went some way into informing where we went next… That process definitely informed the music on some level.”

Pre-sale tickets for Bloc Party’s headliner event will be available from Monday, January 13 at 6pm, with a sign up link here. General sale tickets will go live from Tuesday, January 14, on the Siren website. Tickets start at £45, with the promise of more ‘industry titans’ to be revealed soon.

Siren has now become somewhat of a summer staple for Bristol’s music scene, celebrating the best in dance music and bringing together international stars and underground legends. Previous years have seen the likes of Sean Paul, Wilkinson, Fabio & Grooverider, Sugababes, and Andy C perform on the amphitheatre stage.

Tom Hoyle, co-founder of Siren, said: “We’re absolutely buzzing to have Bloc Party headline Siren. They’ve been such a big part of so many people’s lives and having them play here at the Bristol Amphitheatre where music and culture run so deep – feels massive! Bloc Party on the Harbourside, with that incredible energy and the sun setting in the background, is going to be unforgettable.”
