The cat’s out of the bag.
After keeping their windfall a secret initially, William and Cindy Beaulieu, of Milton, and Marc Duperrouzel, of Brampton, have gone public after matching seven Encore numbers in exact order to win $1 million in the Nov. 16, 2024, Lotto 6/49 draw.
The trio have been playing the lottery together for about six years but kept their windfall news under wraps until now.
“I took our ticket to the store to have it validated, and was surprised to discover we won $1 million,” William Beaulieu told OLG.
“I didn’t believe it at first,” added Duperrouzel.
The trio say that winning comes with a sense of relief and astonishment.
“It’s unbelievable. We couldn’t have imagined this would happen to us,” said Cindy Beaulieu to OLG.
The three winners plan to pay bills with their windfall.
The winning ticket was bought at Circle K on Bronte St. S., in Milton.
Lottery win provides Brampton man ‘secure’ future
Timothy Beasley says his future is more “secure” after he won a $1 million Maxmillions prize in the Dec, 3, 2024 Lotto Max draw.
The 52-year-old Brampton resident has been playing the lottery for many years, but this is his first big win.
“I realized I’d won when I checked my Lotto Max ticket using the OLG app,” Beasley told OLG.
“I was shocked. I scanned my ticket several times, unable to believe what I was seeing. It didn’t seem real, but I was certainly happy.”
Beasley plans to invest his winnings and take a vacation.

“When I shared the news with my family, they were just as surprised and excited as I was,” he added.
The winning ticket was bought at Kitchen Food Fair Convenience, on Chinguacousy Rd., in Brampton.
Hamilton lottery winner eyes trip to New Zealand
A decade of playing the lottery paid off for Hamilton resident Sharon Gillan, who won a $333,333 Maxmillions prize in the Dec. 3, 2024 Lotto Max draw.
Gillan, who works in the shipping and receiving industry, was thrilled about her first big win.
“I was heading into work, and before I got out of my car, I decided to check my Lotto Max ticket on the OLG app,” said Gillan.
“At first, I thought I’d won $333 and had a giggle at the amount, but then I realized there were more threes. I had to take a moment to catch my breath. It was hard to believe I’d won.”
Gillan plans to invest her windfall and may also celebrate by taking a trip to New Zealand.
The winning ticket was bought at Pioneer/Snack Express, on Mohawk Rd. W., in Hamilton.
Three is the magic number
Champagne all around for Timothy Klementti, of Barrie, Clifford Bakazias, of Gravenhurst, and Gary Parsons of Toronto, following the trio’s $321,264 second-prize, Lotto Max win on Nov. 22, 2024.
It was Bakazias who shared the astonishing news with the group.
“I was reviewing the winning numbers when I realized we’d won,” he told OLG. “I sent a message in our group chat, saying, ‘Put our ticket in safe place!’ Timothy and Gary were surprised and thrilled.”
When the three men shared the news with their wives, their reactions ranged from disbelief to pure joy.
The group agreed that their win couldn’t have come at a better time.
“It feels like the best Christmas present ever,” they told OLG. “We feel like kids on Christmas morning.”
The winning ticket was bought at Jean’s Variety, on Burton Ave., in Barrie.
Lotto winner ‘shocked’ by $100,000 win
Playing the lottery for almost 30 years finally worked out for Niagara Falls resident David Low.
The mechanic and father of two almost passed out after he matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in the Nov. 22, 2024 Lotto Max draw to win $100,000.
“I’d gone out to get gas, and since I was already there, I decided to check my tickets,” said Low to OLG.
“I scanned my Lotto Max ticket on the ticket checker and saw the ‘Big Winner’ message. In shock, I scanned it again and again. Then, I told the clerk what I had seen. When they checked my ticket and confirmed I’d won $100,000, I nearly passed out.”
Low plans to invest his winnings for his retirement.
The winning ticket was bought at Petro-Canada on Lundy’s Lane in Niagara Falls.
