Prince William’s growing out his beard is a sign that the Royal Family are becoming more relatable to the public, a hair styling expert exclusively told GB News.
Prince William’s pressure on Prince Harry to be clean-shaven for his wedding in 2018 has been labelled out of touch by the expert.
Prince William showed off his now-familiar beard during the festive season, which he has been growing out for several months, despite once allegedly pressuring Prince Harry to stay clean-shaven.
The Duke of Sussex claimed that William ordered him to shave his beard off before his wedding to Meghan Markle in 2018, leading to a week-long confrontation.

Jack Miles, owner of Revyv Hair, exclusively told GB News: “I was surprised he was able to have a beard when attending high-level events because royal protocol is normally clean-shaven.
“I really do think that this approach makes him more relatable for the everyday person.
“Back at Harry and Meghan’s wedding, there was the saga of being clean-shaven.
“For regular people that seems very foreign and is such a silly thing to ask permission for.

Miles suggested that most men in their 20’s upwards have had a beard, making William’s new look “more relatable and more familiar to the people we see in our daily lives”.
Miles added: “I do think the Royal Family were out of touch and the public felt that.”
While promoting his memoir, Prince Harry said he sought permission from the Queen, who was commander in chief of the military.
The Armed Forces had strict rules around facial hair while in uniform, but the Queen allegedly allowed the Duke of Sussex to remain unshaved.

Harry claimed his older brother ordered him to shave it off after a week-long argument. However, the beard stayed in place.
Speaking on how William’s beard looks, Miles said: “For an older guy a beard can act as a contour to their face.”
Miles also pointed out that a beard “helps break up the skin” between the head and neck, making older men look “smarter” and “slimmer”.
He added: “It reshapes and puts structure into a man’s face. He looks so different if you look back on old photos because he is getting older and balding. So when you are balding, you need facial hair to break up the skin.”
