Justin Trudeau’s departure as Prime Minister will spell the end of the ‘woke agenda’ in Canada, a commentator has claimed.
Speaking to GBN America, Faulkner said Trudeau had “soured the country with his policies of this extreme wokeism”.
In a press conference on Monday, Trudeau announced his resignation as leader of Canada’s Liberal Party yesterday, though he will remain Prime Minister until a successor is chosen.
He confirmed: “I intend to resign as party leader, as Prime Minister, after the party selects its next leader through a robust, nationwide, competitive process.”

He explained his decision was driven by internal party challenges: “This country deserves a real choice in the next election, and it has become clear to me that if I’m having to fight internal battles, I cannot be the best option in that election.”
Delivering his verdict on the resignation, Faulkner argued that Trudeau had mistakenly believed Canadians supported what he described as “extreme transgender agenda” and “open borders immigration”.
Faulkner claimed Trudeau’s approach and plummeting popularity stemmed from his belief that Canada was a “post-national country” without a founding identity.
“He claims that Canada really has no culture, no founding identity, and that allowed him to use this radical, woke agenda,” Faulkner told GBN America.

The journalist suggested Trudeau may not genuinely believe in these policies himself, viewing them instead as “a useful political weapon”.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
“It’s deeply embarrassing… The Canadian people aren’t an unserious people, we are a serious people,” Faulkner said.
He criticised Trudeau for “parading around, going to gay pride parades, and trying to push this woke agenda on the rest of the world”.
Faulkner concluded his remarks with a stark prediction about the future of progressive policies in Canada.
“And I think it’ll basically die, woke agenda will die, when Justin Trudeau leaves,” he said.

At least two dozen MPs in Trudeau’s government publicly called for his resignation.
The Liberal Party was projected to be overtaken by Pierre Poilievre’s Conservative faction in an election that must take place by October.
The Liberal Party has not yet announced when the leadership contest to replace Trudeau will begin.
A snap election could be triggered following Trudeau’s departure, or parliament could pass a no-confidence measure to dismantle the existing government.
