Professional services firm EY Northern Ireland has chosen Ebrington Plaza in Derry for a new regional office, it said today.
It follows an announcement by the firm at the Northern Ireland Investment Summit in September 2023 that it would create 1,000 new jobs here over the next five years.
The business, which will make the move into Ebrington Plaza by June, said the office would play a crucial role in expanding its regional presence.
It added that the location would also harness “exceptional talent” across the north west as well as growing client demand. The recruitment of new staff will also double the firm’s headcount in Northern Ireland, it said.
EY said the north west was known for its “diverse” business landscape and would bring opportunities to work with “leading indigenous and international businesses, entrepreneurs and public sector organisations, as well as access to world class talent from its educational institutions”.

Frank O’Keeffe, EY Ireland managing partner, said: “An office in the north west has long been the missing link for EY on the island of Ireland, and we are really proud to confirm that we will be opening our office in the north west later this year.
“This will be EY’s seventh location on the island of Ireland and we are really looking forward to being able to serve so many incredible clients, organisations and entrepreneurs in the region as we help to shape their futures with confidence.
“It will enable us to harness the world-class talent that is living and working right across the north west. We can’t wait to get started.”
Last October, Alchemy Technology Services was announced as the first tenant of Ebrington Plaza. In 2021, technology giant Allstate abandoned early-stage plans to move to the site.
Ebrington Plaza is also the location of the Ebrington Hotel, which opened in 2023.
