Coleen Nolan is organising a girls’ getaway with fellow Loose Women star Ruth Langsford after both experienced relationship woes. The well-known TV personalities, who have recently faced heartbreak, are looking to lift each other’s spirits with a weekend together.
Nolan confirmed to Woman Magazine, “I think we should! I’m not sure about nights out, but she’s gonna spend a weekend with me.”
The plans for merriment follow Ruth Langsford’s separation from Eamonn Holmes last year, and Coleen’s own split from Michael Jones, whom she met on Tinder in 2020. Addressing the idea of hitting the town as single ladies, Coleen announced, “We’re gonna have a girly weekend. I’m going to show her around and take her to the local pub, it’ll be fabulous.”
Nolan has been an anchor of support for Langsford during her publicised separation from Holmes, reflecting the shoulder she received from her co-star in past troubled times. Speaking to Bella Magazine, Nolan expressed her reciprocal support: “I support her like she supported me when my marriage was not in a good place.”
Ruth, who has returned to her presenting duties, was also commended by Nolan for her dignified silence during the tough period. “Ruth and I keep in touch all the time. She’s back at work now, which is great because I really missed her,” she divulged.
Coleen expressed deep admiration for Ruth’s decorum during difficult times, stating: “I don’t want to say too much because it’s not my business to say Ruth’s life, but what I will say from a friend’s point of view is, I’ve never met anyone that has handled something with so much dignity and pride.”
She continued to praise Ruth’s character: “She’s just such a lady, more of a lady then I’ll ever be, I would’ve spilled my guts right now – as I do, that’s my problem, I say too much. She’s been absolutely amazing, she really has.”
Meanwhile, the complexities of Coleen’s current situation, including her recent split, which she attributes to a busy lifestyle and the need for personal changes, highlight that she and Michael still maintain a friendship post-breakup.
Coleen was formerly married to Shane Richie for nine years, and then to Ray Fensome from 2007 to 2018.
