A teenage boy has been stabbed to death on a bus in Woolwich, south east London.
An investigation has been launched following the incident involving the 14-year-old on the bus route Route 472, the Metropolitan Police said.
Emergency services quickly attended the scene after receiving reports of a stabbing at 2.28pm on January 7.
The 14-year-old boy had sustained stab wound injuries, and died shortly after medics arrived.
The bus had been going past the junction with the A205 South Circular Road

No arrests have been made so far but the Met Police are appealing for witnesses.
Police cordons and road closures remain in place near Woolwich Church Road.

A police statement said: “An investigation has been launched after the fatal stabbing of a teenage boy on a bus this afternoon.”

“If anyone witnessed the incident or has any information which may help, they are urged to call police on 101 with ref 3795/07JAN25 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer and a paramedic from our tactical response unit.
“We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“Sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.”
In October, the Metropolitan Police said it was intensifying efforts to reduce knife crime and crack down on violent gangs across the capital.
In 2024, there were more than 15,000 knife related offences in London – 2,200 up on the year before.
While the number of teenagers stabbed to death last year rose to 18, five more than the number of youngsters killed in 2022.
