Striving for a healthier diet can often seem daunting, with the pursuit of dietary perfection looming large. However, one woman’s experience shows that weight loss doesn’t have to be complicated or restrictive, and you can still enjoy your favourite foods.

Amidst the surge of wellness and fitness influencers on social media bombarding us with images of immaculate green smoothies promising rapid weight loss, elaborate meal preps, and intense workout regimes, there’s a voice advocating for simplicity.

In a TikTok video, Michelle Corrigan revealed her two-stone weight loss secret: keeping it basic and still indulging in the occasional treat.

“Please don’t follow me if you’re looking for fancy recipes and nutritious meal ideas because nine times out of 10, you’re not getting that here,” she confessed, embracing an uncomplicated approach to shedding pounds. She continued: “I’m just a girl on a mission to lose weight and still eat foods that are convenient and that I enjoy.”

Michelle shared her “realistic what I eat in a day” video, offering inspiration and support to those embarking on their own weight loss journeys, demonstrating that perfection isn’t necessary for progress.

She “started the day with a cup of tea,” and chose a “pre-packed Ceasar salad” from the ‘Trimmed’ range for lunch, clocking in at less than 400 calories. “It was calorie-counted; it was delicious. It was really big; I only ate half of it,” she revealed.

For an afternoon nibble, she opted for “a bag of Meanies for 85 calories”. Her dinner was more straightforward than she may have usually prepared, as her partner wasn’t home, so she “put on a chicken burger and had that with some cheese, coleslaw, and tomatoes”.

To satisfy her sweet tooth, Michelle admitted needing a “chocolate fix” and chose a Galaxy bar to enjoy “and had that with a cup of tea” while relaxing in bed watching her favourite shows.

In the comments section of her post, fans praised her, with one saying: “I love your recipes and always take them on board,” appreciating how relatable they found her content. And another gushed: “Running to the shop to buy meanies – unreal.”
