A man has been charged with assisting former soldier Daniel Khalife escape from prison.
Khalife, who has been accused of spying for Iran, escaped from HMP Wandsworth in September 2023.
Imran Chowdury, 25, from Chingford, east London, is accused of helping Khalife after he fled the jail, the Metropolitan Police said.
Chowdury was arrested by the Metropolitan Police in January last year.

He was subsequently charged in December via postal requisition with one count of assisting an escaped prisoner.
He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, January 7.
Police confirmed that no further action will be taken against a 25-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender in February 2024.
Khalife’s escape from the prison triggered a nationwide manhunt.
