Claudia Winkleman has revealed her ultimate favourite meal, which features a particularly polarising ingredient. The 52-year-old television presenter, who recently graced our screens again in the latest BBC series of The Traitors, divulged her top dinner choices during a discussion about so-called ‘cheat meals’.
Dismissing the notion of ‘cheating’ while eating, Claudia expressed her love for a classic roast chicken and potatoes, with a kick of horseradish, accompanied by a vegetable side and two additional courses. For the latter, she’d typically select an Italian cheese with a robust taste that’s sure to divide opinion.
“Buttery peas [too],” she told Marie Claire at the time. “…Then a cheese board that WILL include Gorgonzola, and then probably Tiramisu.” Despite their delicious taste, roast chicken and vegetables like peas are among what’s often nicknamed ‘clean foods’.
This term usually refers to healthy products that haven’t been processed, meaning they haven’t received chemical treatment. In 2024, a study led by the US-based Cleveland Clinic warned that eating processed meat is among the main drivers of colorectal cancer in young people.
As a result, ‘cleaner’ options are far more beneficial for long-term health. Speaking to the Mirror, Helen Bell, a nutritionist from the UK Care Guide, previously explained: “These foods are typically lower in calories and higher in essential nutrients compared to processed foods. They provide fibre, which aids in digestion and helps maintain a feeling of fullness.
“In my experience, clients who switch to a diet rich in these foods often [also] find it easier to manage their weight because they are consuming more nutrient-dense calories that support overall health and metabolism.”
Aside from food, Claudia also previously said that cycling within spin classes was her favourite way to stay fit. During the 2022 conversation, she added: “I definitely have a favourite way, my favourite thing is to do spin because I’m locked into the bike, so I can’t leave. Because anything else, I will leave. I don’t like sweating, I don’t like pain, I can’t get my head around any of it.”
