Good Morning Britain’s Susanna Reid has returned from the festive hiatus with a bang, sharing her latest transformation in her first post in nearly a fortnight.

Drawing inspiration from an on-screen conversation last year with the iconic Armenian-American star Cher, she divulged that she’s taken the pop sensation’s advice on a crucial tip to fend off ageing maintaining long tresses.

However, the plot took a surprising turn as some of her followers diverged in their views on her revamped appearance, with forthright comments such as: “Ignore Cher! “.

The buzz started today when Susanna posted images flaunting her new hairstyle. Excitedly she announced, “NEW YEAR NEW HAIR! “.

She continued, enlightening her fans: “After hearing THE CHOP is cool, pop idol Cher told me women should keep their long hair and so I am turning back time and going LONG for 2025 with extensions put in by @christinabhair.”, reports the Express.

The previous year witnessed Cher gracing GMB with her lustrous black mane cascading down almost to her waist at 77 years young.

Cher shared her rationale behind preserving a look typically associated with youthful femininity, opposing the tide of time by committing to donning jeans and lengthy tresses “as long as possible”.

A captivated Susanna listened intently as the evergreen Cher, whose chart-topper ‘Turn Back Time’ seems more than fitting, pledged to sport her hair extended into her eighties.

Nevertheless, Susanna’s subtle change, adding inches of lush waves to her hair, sparked a debate among her admirers.

An Instagram user cited, referencing her past cut: “No, you looked great with the bob. Bring it back- ignore Cher! “.

“It’s nice, but as a stylist myself, I feel the chop suited you better,” one observer added. “You always look lovely – I really like it shorter though – tres chic! ” another chimed in.

“Bob all the way! ” exclaimed a fan, whilst another noted that her shorter hairstyle had made her appear more youthful. “Preferred it shorter but you always look gorge regardless xx,” commented an Instagram user.

The debate heated up among fans as they voted for a “short, classy and sassy” style, advising against “fake” looking extensions, while she also garnered encouragement from those favouring longer locks, with calls of: “Yay for long hair! “.

Susanna posed a question to Cher, the multi-million album selling artist, pondering whether she “should regret” opting for her bobyet only time will reveal her ultimate hairstyle preference. The TV star ended her post with “Let me know what you think – and see you tomorrow @gmb.”
